Concise Consumer Communication through Robust Labels for Bio-based Systems

Cost and relevance of LCS for the bioeconomy (opens in new window)

The results about cost and relevance of LCS based on the desk research and stakeholder interviews will be described in D1.5. These results are related to T1.5.

D5.2 will summarize the communication and dissemination results received during the project. This will include the activities organised by T5.1 and T5.3.

Results received from consumer studies will be described in D2.3, including (i) consumer drivers and concerns regarding sustainability issues and willingness to use labelling system for sustainable decision making, (ii) motivation, promoting and hindering factors for changing consumption patterns towards more socially and environmentally responsible direction, and (iii) co-creation results related to the smart solutions for LCS and evaluation of the digital solutions to be developed in 3-CO. These results are related to T2.3.

Results related to E&S gaps in the current LCS and establishment of new indicators/criteria will be described in D1.3. These results are related to T1.3.

The selection process of ten bio-based value chains implemented in 3-CO and results of it will be described in D1.1. These results are related to T1.1.

A science-based supportive framework for bioeconomy, including E&S inducators/criteria, and robustness, effectiveness and affordability of LCS will be described in D1.6. These results are related to T1.6.

Policy recommendations towards the regulatory framework for consumer-based labelling of BBPs (opens in new window)

Policy recommendations towards the regulatory framework for consumer-based labelling of BBPs, including review of EU policies for the bioeconomy and relevant initiatives and strategies on sustainability labelling, and scientific literature on these policies, will be described in D4.1. These results are related to T4.1.

Label design guidelines (opens in new window)

Label design guidelines (final after validation) for the design of labels for BBPs that can be implemented in existing LCS will be described in D4.2 including the scientific understanding of LCS and E&S indicators, the smart solutions towards sustainable consumer behaviour, and the recommendations on social measures and inclusive governance. These results are especially related to T4.2, but also the work done in WPs 1-3.

Report on best practices in sustainability communication among LCS (opens in new window)

Benchmarking results related to best practices in consumer-oriented sustainability communication among LCS will be described in D2.2. These results are related to T2.2.

Assessment report on the Robustness & Effectiveness of LCS for the bioeconomy (opens in new window)

Results related to robustness & effectiveness of LCS, and monitoring systems will be described in D1.4. These results are related to T1.4.

Report on smart digital solutions to support sustainable purchasing decisions (opens in new window)

Results from the tool bechmarking study and development of different digital solutions supporting sustainable consumption will be described in D2.4. These results are related to T2.4.

Policy recommendations on deploying measures supporting SI (opens in new window)

The assessment of measures and the stakeholder (incl. consumers) feedback gathered under WP2 and WP3 will result in targeted policy recommendations on the systematic integration of social engagement and innovation actions into governance approaches contributing to reduced resource consumption and increased innovation capacity of all actors, and described in D3.2. The work will be implemented in T3.3.

State-of-the-art report on consumer behaviour towards sustainable products (opens in new window)

The results received from the literature review about consumer behaviour and expectations towards sustainable products will be described in D2.1. These results are related to T2.1.

Label design guidelines validation report (opens in new window)

Validation results towards the label design guidelines received from stakeholders will be described in D4.3. These results are related to the work done in T4.3.

Guidelines on the design of labels for BBPs from the consumer view point (opens in new window)

Guidelines on the design of labels from the consumer viewpoint will be described in D2.5, combining the results received from T2.1-2.4. The guidelines will be created in T2.5.

The factsheets created in T3.2 will be bundled with an introductory text on applying social engagement and innovation in the bioeconomy into a series of 3 stakeholder brochures, to be described in D3.1. The work is related to T3.1 and T3.2.

The communication kit of 3-CO project will be presented in D5.4 containing templates and branded communication materials will be made available. This work is related to T5.4.
