Periodic Reporting for period 2 - MASTERMINE (European Mining in the Green and Digital Era)
Période du rapport: 2024-06-01 au 2025-11-30
During this period, these are the main advances:
- Deployment of smart mine design methodologies to support safer mine planning and stability assessment.
- Deployment of advanced in situ geotechnical monitoring systems for early-warning and hazard prediction.
- Integrated deformation and risk analysis through the combined use of InSAR, GBSAR and SARDrone.
- Deployment of geoDT, supporting RT analysis and decision-making.
- Integration of CYBERMINE as a Mine4.0 digital backbone.
- Deployment of autonomous and semi-autonomous mining functionalities for autonomous and electrified scaling machine in GNSS-denied environments.
- Deployment of remote monitoring and asset-management systems.
- The development of AI-based predictive maintenance solutions for mining assets and autonomous vehicles, as well as for energy and load forecasting models.
- Lab validation of an AI-driven intelligent ore sorting system.
- Deployment of an intelligent methane drainage control system in underground mine.
- Integration of RT air quality DT, enabling near–real-time ventilation and pollutant dispersion assessment.
- Development of technologies for the recovery of raw materials from mine-impacted water,.
- Application of advanced process technologies for recovery of valuable materials and sustainable reuse of sterile geomaterials.
- Execution of LCA activities across MASTERMINE use cases.
- Maturation of METAMINE DT concepts, including simulation-based optimisation and immersive BI tools.
- Validation of the RMP, enabling traceability, transparency and trustworthy data sharing.
- Consolidation of social innovation and stakeholder engagement tools, including the Intelligent Community Dialogue Agent (ICDA).
- Dissemination and communication activities following the AIDA model.
- Systematic analysis and de-risking of KERs.
- Submission of 17 deliverables, reflecting the technical maturity and integration achieved by the project.
-The Air Quality DT provides a context-specific, real-time solution that enhances safety, operational efficiency, and energy usage, filling a gap not addressed by current commercial systems.
-The AI-based ore sorting system, unlike conventional sorters, is designed to handle multiple use cases and varying sample sizes, making it highly versatile.
-The raw material recovery from water treatment stands out by enabling the recovery of valuable materials from low-concentration waste streams, an area currently underserved by existing technologies.
-The Intelligent Methane Drainage System stands includes the ability to swiftly adapt to changing underground conditions via sensor-driven data, and the use of electric actuators for precise, safe adjustments without direct human intervention as key advantages. This sets a new benchmark in methane management technology.
-The energy load forecasting tool has a potential integrated approach that could be offered through the combination of a methane drainage system and a CH₄ emissions forecasting model, provided as a holistic solution for coal mining operations. By bundling hardware (drainage systems) with advanced software (forecasting and analytics), a comprehensive and ready-to-implement solution is delivered, currently unmatched in the market.
-SocialMine solution differs from others by focusing on knowledge transparency and public engagement, not just corporate reporting or supply chain management, supporting not just investors and companies, but also local communities, researchers, and the general public.
-ICDA has got a unique selling point that lies in using natural language processing to simulate human conversation, making interaction accessible even to users with low literacy or limited resources.
-The RMP, unlike traditional solutions, which lack DLT integration, provides superior traceability, security, and interoperability.
-The Intelligent UAVs for mine supervision is designed to work in synergy with ground robots, enabling coordinated missions and shared data exchange.
-The Autonomy and electrification retrofit kit has applicability to heavy mobile working machinery, on the contrary to existing solutions.
-The Predictive maintenance solution, unlike generic asset management platforms is a mining-native and edge-to-cloud predictive maintenance solution.
