Periodic Reporting for period 1 - SUPPORTER (SecUring sPORTs Education thRough innovative and inclusive Gender Equality Plans)
Période du rapport: 2023-04-01 au 2024-03-31
SUPPORTER project seeks to advance inclusive gender equality in eight partner sports higher-education institutions from Central and Eastern Europe. With tailored training and mentoring mechanisms provided by expert partners, these eight organisations will design intersectional, innovative, inclusive, and impactful Gender Equality Plans (4I-GEPs), adapted to their context, and explicitly addressing gender-based violence - including sexual harassment.
This twinning-inspired approach is based on three interlinked processes (analytical, reflective, implementing), combining learning and mutual-learning schemes with co-creation and dissemination activities, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders.
As this intersectional framework boosts the sports institutions’ capacity to achieve gender equality, their reputation, inclusiveness, and research excellence will ultimately equally be enhanced. Additionally, by triggering sustainable institutional change in addressing inequality-driven challenges, these institutions will be better equipped to meet their objectives related to gender+ equality in the ERA.
Beyond these eight partner institutions, SUPPORTER aims for multiplier effect, to reach the sports ecosystem, and on the long-term bring gender+ institutional change in a variety of institutions, contributing to wide-range systemic societal changes in line with the Ljubljana Declaration objectives.
