BUILDING ENERGY EFFICIENT SYSTEM THROUGH SHORT AND LONG SPECTRUM THERMAL ENERGY STORAGE

CORDIS provides links to public deliverables and publications of HORIZON projects.

Links to deliverables and publications from FP7 projects, as well as links to some specific result types such as dataset and software, are dynamically retrieved from OpenAIRE .

Deliverables

Results from laboratory testing of VI-water storage system for all configurations. (opens in new window)

Works related to Integration with a heat pump as well as with solar thermal will be investigated and analyzed. Related tasks: 4.5.

Identification of the key energetic, environmental, and economic KPIs. (opens in new window)

The key performance indicators (KPI's) for evaluating and comparing the performance of components and system configurations of the reference technologies and proposed storage systems will be provided. KPI will be defined at component level, e.g., storage solutions as well as at system level considering the configurations defined in Task 2.2. The defined metrics will take into account environmental, technological, energetic and economic aspects such as: i) energy (share of renewable energy, fossil fuel savings, primary energy savings, CO2 emissions savings, peak load reduction, etc.); ii) technology (volumetric storage energy density, complexity, availability, durability, efficiency, etc.); iii) environment and safety (toxicity, explosivity, lifetime, etc.); iv) economics: cost-effectiveness in terms of pay-back period, levelized costs of storage (LCOS) and levelized cost of energy (LCOE). Related tasks: 2.3.

Current and future overview of technical market application. (opens in new window)

A literature review will be conducted to define the technological benchmarks to be outreached in the research project and to identify the research and development paths to achieve that. Based on existing experiences we will find successful solutions, best practices and barriers encountered. With this information we will identify future trends- Related tasks: 2.1. and 2.2.

Promising storage and system configurations and geographical cluster. (opens in new window)

D13 will be a geographical representation definition useful to identify regions that are mostly homogenous, regarding the applicable thermal storage technologies to satisfy the heat demands with a large share of renewable energy sources in a consumer’s cost-effective way. Also, The most promising system configuration of the technological modules in the thermal energy storage system will be identified based on the outcomes of Task 2.1 to form the basis for the technological developments in WP3 and WP4. Related tasks: 2.1. and 2.2.

Visual Identity. (opens in new window)

BEST-Storage visual identity package shall be designed and include among others logo, report templates, editable leaflet, editable roll-up, newsletter templates, slide deck (etc.). The official website will be used both as a key communication and dissemination channel for the project and its results, as well as the main interface towards the target audience. Related tasks: 7.2.
