Smart Integration of Waste and Renewable Energy for Sustainable Heat Upgrade in the Industry

After a second analysis of the pre-selected materials, the final selection of PCMs will be supported. The deliverable will include the testing results of the thermophysical characterization (T4.2).

Preliminary definition of the laboratory rig of SUSHEAT prototype and its operation ensuring full replicability of the case study. The requirements of all case studies to be replicated will be analysed. A peeliminarytest plan will be outlined (T2.3).

First selection of PCMs. The possible materials and its features will be presented. The report will also include the results of their characterisation that supoorts the selection (T4.1).

Equations governing the design and thermal processes for bio-inspired designs. The following structures will be analysed, considered for the design and modeled: plant leaves and animal/human lungs for distribution of fluids, fins design and bending of pipes. (T4.3)

Analysis of different energy resources (waste, ambient, solar) available in the industries. The report will include the definition and explanations on the possible working procedures of the SUSHEAT system,as well as detailed layouts for its integration. (T2.2)

Results of the analysis on the heat demand, requirements and challenges of the 2 End-Users and 4 other industries. The report will also include preliminary layouts for the integration at the different industries and particular details on the temperatures and production schedules of the processes. (T2.1)
