Deliverables
All the generated spectroscopic and experimental data, alongside synthetic knowledge, will be first uploaded to the local server at University of Bayreuth. Specifically, I will use Perkin Elmer’s ELN to manage synthetic experimental data. In addition, I will prepare an individual file for each milestone summarizing every data related to it and store it on the local server. All the data related to potential IP will be initially closed for 5 years embargo period, and then it will be made available on Zenodo, an open forum at University of Bayreuth. However, in the case of published data in peer-reviewed journals, a DOI will be provided immediately on Zenodo. The potential data licensing will be by the University of Bayreuth. I value the significance and impact of Open Science, Open Research, and Open data on social and economic benefits. I will share the results to open and early pre-print networks such as ChemRXiv. This step will certainly assist to reach a broad audience and also encourage an open peer review. As per the Horizon Europe objectives, the outcomes of ‘SYNERGISTIC’ will be published in open-access international journals (like Nat. Commun., JACS Au, Angew. Chem. Int. Ed.) for peer review and faster dissemination of the knowledge. Additionally, University of Bayreuth strongly supports and maintains the ‘Belgian Open Access regulation (Art. XI.196, §2/1 Wetboek Economisch Recht)’. Hence, the research data will be provided to the Library of University of Bayreuth, ensuring the immediate accessibility and reusability of the data.
Below stated three-step dissemination strategy and exploitation plan will be adopted to maximize the impact of the research outputs from the project for both the academic and lay populations. Scientific Publications: It is anticipated that I will be able to publish at least 3 articles during this fellowship based on the research data from this project. For that purpose, I will consider peer-reviewed international journals such as Science, Nature, Chem, JACS, and Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. Conferences/Workshops: I plan to attend at least 1 international conference every year and in total 3 conferences to present my project’s outcomes. For that purpose, EuGSc (2023), EuCheMS (2024), and BOSS (2024) conferences will be on my priority list. Besides, the results will also be presented at national conferences like the Merck Organic Chemistry symposium (MOCS 2023 & 2024), and departmental seminars/workshops. Communication measures and public engagement strategy: Unfortunately, due to the negative publicity of chemicals in the broader context of the world (e.g. chemical spills, illegal drugs, chemical warfare, pesticides) by the media, the general public has amassed a rather negative awareness of chemistry. The main purpose of my communication activities will therefore be to enhance the public’s understanding of chemistry and to assist in developing their appreciation for the capability of chemistry. The following steps are planned to inform the students, chemical professionals, and the general public: 1.Social media: Twittering and blogging will be done regularly to promote the results and stimulate positive chemistry awareness concerning the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. 2.Video interview (VI) on the Panopto platform with the help of the UBT Department of Communication will be set up. 3.The results will be presented at Bayreuth City Talks (Bayreuther Stadtgespräche)” organized in collaboration with the Bayreuth City and UBT at Iwalewahaus with target audiences like M1 and M2’s for academics and M3’s for industrial application.
