The resource center is an online library with hundreds of the best tools, guides, and materials to support the work of participatory democracy advocates, policymakers and program managers. They can find the resources most relevant to them by using the filter to view resources by type, language, country, stage of process or institution.

Participation Playbook

The Participation Playbook is an interactive guide to help advocates, policymakers and program managers to make the key decisions necessary to successfully advocate for and implement a participatory democracy program. First, it will help users identify the participation solution that’s right for them and their local context. Then, it will lead them through a series of questions prepared by experts to develop a step-by-step plan for their participatory program.

Annual Report 2

Annual Reports will be published and distributed to all our target audiences and beyond. They will highlight the efforts made by Nets4Dem in the foregoing year by describing latest research findings, innovations in democratic governance and successful transfer of these innovations into best practises for capacity-building on all levels of policy-making. The Annual Report of Nets4Dem will be the cutting-edge publication on democracy innovation in the EU and the associated countries for the years to come.

Expand the Participation PlayBook

Expand the online tool to help policymakers and practitioners successfully plan and implement inclusive democratic innovation programs. Adapt and expand the existing global Participation Playbook, which guides users step by step through the process of designing their program, based on global best practices and resources. Incorporate research findings from WP2, improve user experience, and develop additional content for diverse democratic innovations, with 300 institutions using the playbook.

Multi-Dimensional framework for Democratic Innovation

A working paper reporting the findings of the literature review conducted within T2.1. (the knowledge produced within the projects funded under FP and Horizon programs, as well as within civil society). Using both automated and qualitative analysis techniques, we will describe the main research directions, identify consistent and diverging findings, discuss fruitful avenues for further exploration, etc. The aim of this document is to provide a useful overview of the state of the art in the field of demarcation innovation to both scholars and practitioners; as such, it will be structured and written to help other WPs in their tasks and activities in order to facilitate translation of knowledge.

Academic Publication (special issue journal)

An open-access thematic issue in an academic journal comprising approximately six papers presented on two workshops organized within T2.2 and T2.4. The editors of the thematic issue will be researchers involved in this project. The aim of the thematic issue will be to promote theory building in the field of inclusive democratic innovations based on the agenda informed by an extensive assessment of the field (through D2.1, D2.2, and D2.3) with contributions aiming to bring together diverse perspectives and approaches in both academia and civil society.

Report on democratic innovation policies

Analytical report outlining and comparing existing policies related to democratic innovations at EU, national and local level derived from policy documents and grey literature. The report also documents the views of policymakers on the challenges of implementing and institutionalizing democratic innovations.

Project Management Plan part 2.

A Data Management plan (DMP) will present an overview of data that will be generated/collected by the project and will set out procedures for safe processing of this data, compliant with the GDPR and how the principles to make all research data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR). The DMP will furtherdefine: i) Types of data/research outputs: Nets4Dem will collect different types of data during its activities,namely: i) dataset of indicators relative to impact; ii) qualitative data from other research and reflection activities,including workshops with stakeholders (qualitative survey, questionnaire, interviews, focus groups); research surveys; social network analysis. The analysis, interpretation and elaboration of data will be used for project monitoring and improvement, scientific publications and within the dissemination plan. With concerns to the SocialNetwork Analysis, the Consortium Partners will not need to collect personal data to perform the analysis; the model will work based on secondary data that has already been anonymised. The size of data is so far unknown, however it is expected that it will reach 1Terabyte

These include infographics, maps, graphs, social media visuals, and other forms of accessible media contents. The dissemination of these materials will follow the publication of each discussion paper (T2.3, D2.3).

Digital Governance Tool

"Open Source Politics will provide Nets4Dem with a digital participatory governance platform based on the open source software Decidim. The platform will allow the members to engage with the community in a horizontal two-way approach: participants will be able to suggest ideas, debate on them, participate in polls and surveys and overall follow-up network projects. The platform will also help in the coordination of and communication around live, online and hybrid meetings."""

Democratic Knowledge Database

A database categorizing and cataloging scattered knowledge produced within academia and civil society on topics relevant to inclusive democratic innovations. The database will be built based on the extensive literature review conducted within T2.1. It will provide a user-friendly way of locating and accessing relevant information and materials based on the several criteria that will be specified over the course of the T2.1. desk research (e.g., relevant authors, concepts, types of documents, institutions, cases, timeframe, countries, etc.).
