Streem Energy Application - - HORIZON-EIE-2022-SCALEUP-02

Project description

Streem energy boosts European reach and pricing precision

The renewable energy sector faces challenges in market transparency and pricing efficiency. Data service provider, Streem Energy, aims to address these issues with the EU-funded Stream Application project. This dual-focused project plans to bolster their presence in Spain by establishing a local team and office, while also enhancing their pricing engine. This advanced engine will leverage machine learning and neural networks to refine imbalance cost calculations, helping market participants reduce their balancing market exposure. Streem’s initiative is a strategic move towards developing a comprehensive suite of data products that will support renewable energy players across Europe, fostering greater market integration and efficiency.

Objective

Streem Energy Proposal for HORIZON-EIE-2022-SCALEUP-02.

Streem Energy, a data services provider for the renewable Energy sector, submit this application for the HORIZON-EIE-2022-SCALEUP-02 programme.

The work contained in this proposal focuses on two main goals :
1. Establishing a presence in Spain for the company: this work package involves at its core the implementation of both a Customer Operations Manager and aSales Representative to focus on the Spanish market. Executing this successfully will require research into strategic locations for the team to be based, securing an office space for this new team, research into the legal landscape and possibility of creating a local subsidiary company, market research for possible local partnerships and increasing the size of our local sales channel.
2. Developing the next generation of the Streem pricing engine : this work package involves: detailed analysis of regulatory frameworks and current market conditions, extensive R&D work on the applicability of machine learning and neural networks, and also the addition of a first-class imbalance cost calculation engine, that will enable market participants to minimise their exposure in the balancing markets.

The objectives of the work discussed in this application - growing our Spanish presence and developing our pricing product - are important steps towards the overall future vision for Streem, where we will have a suite of advanced data products for renewable energy market participants, available and harmonised across all European borders.
