A DIRECT 2 CONSUMER SOLUTION FOR PERIMENOPAUSAL SYMPTOM DETECTION

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - identifyHer (A DIRECT 2 CONSUMER SOLUTION FOR PERIMENOPAUSAL SYMPTOM DETECTION)

Période du rapport: 2023-07-01 au 2024-01-31

identifyHer is a digital health company using wearable enabled AI to detect and track the symptoms of perimenopause. We have developed a wearable sensor that passively collects vital sign data and we use machine learning to transform that data into perimenopausal symptoms. The Women TechEU project allowed us to develop a prototype cloud platform and app to stream, store, process and analyse the data, while providing reports and meaningful insights to women. This allowed us to develop our first demonstrable product and is a very important step as we move to market launch.

The symptom data will empower women with information to explain how they feel, improving quality of life & personal relationships and the earlier treatment. It helps to address many of the challenges women face during this phase of life, including (i) increase the chance of remaining in the workforce, maintain job satisfaction, reduce the number of sick days & desire to leave their job while improving promotion opportunities; (ii) maintain or improve personal economic status through salary and other employment benefits and (iii) reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease & osteoporosis post-menopause. The direct & indirect outcomes, keep women healthier and more productive for longer.
The aim of the project was to build a prototype digital platform with: (i) Data streaming from the biosensor to the digital platform securely and with energy efficiency; (ii) A software architecture to securely host and store the raw data; (iii) Interoperability between the analytics, cybersecurity, data processing & reporting modules; (iv) an app interface to facilitate data streaming and reporting to end users.

The main work undertaken include:
1. Cloud platform architecture: This involved the design of each component of the cloud platform, including the data transfer, cybersecurity, data management, data processing and storage.
2. User Experience/User Interface (UX/UI) development: This involved determining each step of the user pathway on the app, from onboarding, to user displays, reporting and additional data logging. Wireframes of each step were developed and then designed to optimise the user experience while adhering to our brand guidelines.
3. Process for data connectivity and data relay app: The output of this process resulted in a Flutter package that encapsulates all connectivity and communication between the app using the Flutter package and the wearable device through to the relaying of data collected from the wearable to a backend.
4. Software development: Once the architecture and wireframes were developed and connectivity with the device was established, the cloud platform was built on AWS and the app developed for Android and iOS platforms.
The outputs from the Women TechEU project provided us with our first demonstrable product that we were able to showcase at CES in 2024. This is a major step toward market launch of our final product and provides a real and tangible demo for investors and end users.
