GoLexic: Transforming intervention for dyslexic children

Periodic Reporting for period 1 - GoLexic (GoLexic: Transforming intervention for dyslexic children)

Período documentado: 2023-06-01 hasta 2024-03-31

GoLexic is an app that helps children with dyslexia and reading challenges improve their reading and writing skills. To do this, the App uses a combination of structured content, speech recognition and personalisation algorithms to create a differentiated offering that supports the learning needs of all children. The goal of the company is to scale personalised reading intervention so that parents and teachers have easy access to a robust and affordable tool that helps children improve their literacy skills.

With this project, we focused on go-to-market strategy and marketing. Before starting the project, we invested time and resources in building and testing the GoLexic App. The App was available already in 2 languages (English and German), in 3 markets (UK, Canada and Germany) but we had focused our efforts on app development rather than marketing and user acquisition in the past. Our objective with Women in Deep Tech Funding was to develop the marketing strategy, infrastructure, resources and assets needed to grow our user base. One of our objectives was also to expand beyond our current markets and make the App available in more EU countries.
With the help of the funding, we developed a new go-to-market strategy and made decisions for how to move forward with commercialisation and marketing. Some of these decisions were executed during the rest of the project, such as the introduction of a new freemium model to the GoLexic App, which makes it more accessible, and the launch of the App in new EU markets: Austria, Switzerland, Malta, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway.

We also developed a new marketing plan and produced new marketing assets. We launched 2 websites: first we relaunched the GoLexic website, for the first time also in German: www.golexic.com. We built our blog to be a resource center for parents on the topic of dyslexia. We published new content to raise awareness of dyslexia, reading challenges, and explain the science behind reading acquisition. We then launched a second website for our new tool - a free online test that helps parents identify if their child shows signs of dyslexia. We launched this site in March 2024.

GoLexic has new branding, new creative and marketing assets, lead generation tools, marketing automation processes, optimised websites and advertising campaigns. As a result of all the work we completed throughout the project, we almost doubled organic site traffic already, and have more than doubled our number of users.
