Noise and vibrations from impact and vibratory piling
(s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)
Report describing the mathematical modeling to predict the wave emissions (noise in seawater and vibrations of the seabed) from pile installations offshore, the scaled experimental setup together with the analysis of the collected data, and comparison of model predictions with available data sets (from both real environments and scale tests) for both classical impact piling and vibratory piling. Parametric study to examine the influence of seabed composition, pile geometry, hammer type on the expected noise and vibration levels at various seawater depths and distances from the pile. Special focus on including the latest developments of the offshore wind industry when it comes to pile sizes and state-of-the-art installations methods.
Soundscape from animal-borne sensors
(s’ouvre dans une nouvelle fenêtre)
Report on soundscapes quantified from animal-borne data loggers, that is, description of the natural and anthropogenic noise experienced by free-swimming animals and description of the methods to derive the results.
