The D2XCEL project aims to create a scalable platform that enhances the European startup ecosystem, focusing on deep tech and digital ventures, particularly those contributing to sustainability and European sovereignty in sectors such as transport, logistics, supply chain and finances, energy, and smart cities. The project seeks to build a network of 200+ stakeholders and support 100 selected companies through a comprehensive mentoring programme including individual support, work with experts on specific issues as well as exposure to investors and corporate partners through series of online and onsite events.
The key project activities include:
1. Stakeholder Engagement: The project is building a network of at least 200 key stakeholders, such as investors, corporations, lead customers, and mentors, to support 100 ventures on their way to excel.
2. Market Opportunity Identification: To select the companies in the project and the stakeholders, D2XCEL consortium identified 10 key market opportunities (MOs) with significant growth potential. These sectors are mapped to guide the support for companies selected through 2 Open Calls. During the writing of this Deliverable, 5 market roadmap reports have been produced and will be soon published.
3. Open Calls and Beneficiary Selection: Two open calls will be held to attract 250 startups and scaleups. From these, 100 companies will be selected to receive scaling and acceleration services, including personalized mentoring and strategic guidance.
4. Mentoring and Strategic Support: Selected companies will receive extensive support through a network of mentors, ecosystem partners and expert investors. The program aims to raise the visibility of the selected startups and help them build strategic plans, connect with potential customers, and raise investment.
D2XCEL brings together a wide consortium of 13 partners from 8 countries. Overall, the project strives to generate €100 million in new investments and partnerships for participating companies, thereby enhancing the capacity of the European ecosystem to support deep tech startups at scale.
