Projects in the first pillar of 'Horizon Europe', funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and Marie-Sklodowska-Curie (MSCA), focus on scientific excellence but are often not directly linked to specific applications. Connections to, for example, the climate system and climate policy only become evident over time. This tracker monitors the Horizon Europe’s financial contribution to both mitigating climate change (e.g., contributions to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions) and adapting to climate change by building resilience (e.g., regarding floods, droughts, spatial planning and better governance, adaptation to changing climate in value chains, etc.).
