Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project

The objective of the project is to understand how matter behaves when it is exposed to extreme conditions such as high temperature and/or density. One of these conditions existed in the early universe, and understanding this behaviour will help us look into our past, billions of years ago. Scientists have created such an environment in the laboratory through collision experiments, and the project aims to understand the results of the experiments through mathematical models inspired by nonextensive statistics. These statistics describe systems with fluctuations and long-range correlations. To this end, new models have been developed, and numerical analyses have been performed to establish the applicability of the models. These works have led to follow-up studies, international presentations, seminars, and research training.
The expected impact is primarily scientific, contributing to a deeper understanding of fundamental properties of matter and providing new approaches for high-energy physics research. The project also strengthens European research capacity through expertise brought in by international collaboration and the development of an independent research profile. The outcomes provide a pathway to future theoretical developments and applications in the study of complex physical systems.

Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far

The project developed models for particle production in high-energy collisions and derived a generalized formula for particle distribution. This approach was extended in a follow-up study. The project utilized analytical methods, numerical simulations, and transport approaches to study particle production and suppression effects. It also performed mathematical analyses to describe systems where particle behaviour can vary with direction.

Its main achievements are the following:
1. Deriving a novel formula for particle production from a generalized statistical approach.
2. Obtaining new results related to particle number distributions.
3. Providing new insights into non-equilibrium effects and diffusion in high-energy collision systems.
4. Producing scientific publications and generating follow-up research directions beyond the original objectives.

Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)

A beyond the state of the art formula for particle production that may connect the proposed model with other fundamental theories of physics has been derived. Also, a novel formula for the particle suppression factor has been obtained. A connection between the model and particle number distribution in experiments has been established, and a generalization of an existing mathematical function has been derived, possibly for the first time in the context of the project topic. The mathematical analyses utilized in one of these works have been used to obtain a novel result for systems whose behaviour depends on direction. These analytical approaches provide improved tools for studying particle production processes.

Further research is required to complete the generalization of the developed models and extend their applications to a wider range of experimental observables. Continued international collaboration and scientific development will support the further uptake and impact of the project results.
