Periodic Reporting for period 1 - 6G-PATH (6G-PATH: 6G Pilots and Trials Through Europe)
Période du rapport: 2024-01-01 au 2025-06-30
Obj.1: Setup the 6G-PATH experiment & validation infrastructure and evolve it into B5G/6G experimental infrastructures and pre-normative testbeds
Obj.2: Deliver and refine a transversal integration and experimentation platform
Obj.3: Expand user community and implement large scale field trials with internal and external experiments, through Open Calls
Obj.4: Collection and refinement of requirements stemming from Stream B and verticals
Obj.5: Devise leading-edge business models towards the commercialisation and exploitation of 6G-PATH UCs and technologies
Obj.6: Disseminate and communicate results to a wide community of stakeholders while ensuring impact on standardisation efforts
Obj.7: Create repositories for both open knowledge transfer and supporting the subsequent phases of the SNS program
In WP2, D2.1 has successfully performed several actions as: (i) description of the latest reviewed reference 6G-PATH architecture and its components and interface specifications; also proposition of primary workflows for onboarding, testing and evaluating vertical UCs; (ii) each of the major components has been specified with functions, interfaces, inputs, post conditions etc.; (iii) definition of the blueprints of all vertical UCs with refined Key Value Indicators (KVIs) and corresponding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); (iv) introduction of “key” B5G technologies that may be relevant to this project’s scope and roadmap for their integration into the 6G-PATH architecture.
In WP3, D3.1 provided an in-depth overview of the progress and status of the testbeds for the initial phase. It introduced a detailed description of the 5G infrastructure available, computational resources, orchestration and monitoring capabilities, exposed APIs and network scenarios available for experimentation.
D3.1 documented the software components integrating the initial release of the 6G-PATH framework and the components planned for the final release. It also “outlined” the advanced experimentation capabilities embedded into the first version of the platforms to enhance experimentation features within the project’s ecosystem.
WP4 aims to perform the project experiments, both internal and third-party. Work has been about deploying and executing the project internal experiments by using the 6G-PATH testbeds and platform.
WP5 has focused its actions on: (i) preparation, publication, and dissemination of open calls; (ii) proposal assessments & funds management, and (iii) development of tutorials and training material. Work has been about the preparation publication and dissemination of Open Call 1, and proposals’ assessment for Track A and Track B.
WP6 is to validate and evaluate the proposed architecture and platform, and the trials and pilots to be performed throughout the project activities to assess the B5G and 6G impact in its various dimensions. During the actual period, work aimed to develop the validation and evaluation framework for the 6G-PATH activities, which will include the experimentation environment and the verticals experiments. A systematic approach has been proposed to assess the validity and reliability of the 6G-PATH architecture, platform, technical components, testbeds, and trials and pilots’ experiments.
Definition of a reference 6G-PATH architecture together with its components and interface specifications; also proposition of the primary workflows for onboarding, testing and evaluating vertical UCs.
Definition of each one among the major architectural components, specified with functions, interfaces, inputs, post conditions etc.
Definition of the blueprints of all the vertical UCs with refined Key Value Indicators (KVIs) and corresponding Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); also mapping of the facilities of each of the UCs to the proposed reference architecture.
Identification of “key” Beyond 5G technologies (B5G) that may be relevant to 6G-PATH’s scope, in parallel with a potential roadmap for integrating selected technologies into the 6G-PATH architecture.
In WP3:
Introduction and description of the software components integrating the initial release of the 6G-PATH framework and the components planned for the final release.
Description of advanced experimentation capabilities embedded into the first version of the platforms to enhance experimentation features within the project’s ecosystem.
Provision of a roadmap for the project’s planned evolution towards the final release of the platforms and the 6G-PATH framework, via encompassing upcoming improvements to the experimentation framework components and by addressing technical refinements and additional functionality and the development of new advanced features.
