Deliverables
Under this mapping, we will screen the availability of a wide range of biomass residues in Europe and gather the data in a virtual platform openly accessible through the project website. The selection of biomasses will rely on two premises: availability and sustainability.

The sub-models commonly used in CFD of utility boilers are mainly for traditional air-fuel combustion conditions and for fossil fuels. The key differences between oxy- and air-firing conditions as well as between biomass- and coal-combustion must be properly addressed in the sub-models in order to develop a useful and reliable CFD tool for advancing and innovating the oxy-biomass combustion technologies under investigation.
Definition of regional showcase studies (opens in new window)The report will include the defined regional case studies, considering the relevant background, underlaying limitations, site-specific datasets and various factors and indicators, allowing to justify the selected regional case studies, as well as describing them for further application in comprehensive assessments.
