Science in the City

Project description

Science meets creativity at fun events

Scientific literacy and engagement are crucial for fostering innovation and informed decision-making. Nevertheless, many people perceive science and technology as inaccessible or irrelevant to their daily lives. This gap hinders societal progress and reduces interest in STEAM careers. Creativity and critical thinking, essential for solving global challenges, are also often undervalued. With the support of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the Science in the City (SitC) project bridges science, research, technology, and the arts, attracting people from Malta and across Europe. The festival engages visitors with activities, performances, workshops, experiments, installations, exhibitions, talks, comedy, and sports. Showcasing the SitC team, researchers, artists, and community members, it offers fun events to help deepen the public’s understanding and enjoyment of research.
