Agrupación de usuarios finales y edificios para la flexibilidad energética

Las crecientes necesidades energéticas de los usuarios finales de las comunidades energéticas exigen soluciones innovadoras de flexibilidad energética. En este contexto, el equipo del proyecto STUNNED, financiado con fondos europeos, aborda este reto reduciendo la demanda energética de grupos de edificios organizados en comunidades o distritos energéticos. En el proyecto se integrarán fuentes de energía renovables, vehículos eléctricos y sistemas avanzados de gestión de la energía, manteniendo al mismo tiempo conexiones estables a la red. Sus servicios incluirán respuesta a la demanda, reducción de picos, cambio de carga y gestión de la congestión. Mediante la agregación de edificios residenciales e industriales, STUNNED demostrará el potencial de los servicios de flexibilidad energética, lo que permitirá a prosumidores, consumidores y productores participar de forma activa en los mercados de la electricidad. Utilizando el método de optimización del juego de Stackelberg, el equipo del proyecto equilibrará los intereses de los agregadores y los grupos de edificios, con el objetivo de minimizar los costes y la huella de carbono.

Objetivo

STUNNED project aims to reduce the overall energy demand of groups of end-users (buildings) aggregated in energy communities or energy districts, integrating renewables, electric vehicles, different proprietary EMS, ensuring stability in connections with the main electrical grid and providing ancillary services such as Demand Response (DR), peak shaving, load shifting, balancing&frequency services, congestion management. Through the aggregation of multiple residential/industrial buildings, STUNNED aims to demonstrate the opportunity to provide energy flexibility services to the electricity network and to facilitate aggregated prosumers, consumers and producers joining the electricity markets. The proposed solution will be based on the Stackelberg Game optimization method, a mathematical technique capable to find the optimal trade-off solution between two different local actors in a three layer configuration: the middle layer actor, represented by the Aggregator, and a lower layer actors, represented by the group of buildings/industrial sites which will capitalize the possibility to reduce their costs and carbon footprint enabled to the participation in energy and flexibility markets, the upper layer actor. Three different schemes will be implemented and compared, addressing three main market configurations (centralized, decentralized, distributed). Techno-economic-legal viability of the proposed solution will be validated through a demonstration campaign in three different EU countries (Italy, Spain and France), also involving local TSOs/DSOs either directly or through the existing markets. Replication and market design and exploitation will be one of the core points of STUNNED concept development. Moreover, STUNNED will develop a solution coherent with the on-going regulatory framework and providing recommendations for enhancing and innovating the current energy communities legislation.
