Development finalization and optimization of Argo Semi Active Antenna Catalyst to revolutionize sub-6GHz 5G wireless systems

Objective

The advent of 5G has completely transformed the telecommunications landscape, elevating the wireless experience to unprecedented heights. However, the key challenge associated with 5G deployment is the substantial increase in the number of required radios which translates to high CAPEX & OPEX. The transition from the passive to active antenna concept, packing tenths of radios in a Radio Unit, is contributing to both increased intricacy & expenses. The Argo Active Antenna Catalyst enables a single board RU, which represents a groundbreaking integration of RF Integrated Circuit (RFIC) with Ultra Slim Printed Antenna Array. Our path reduction RFIC leads to increased flexibility in network deployment which can be leveraged to enhance cost-effectiveness, reduce power consumption, and expand coverage. With EIC support, we intend to finalize the optimization, manufacturing & validation of our RFIC, commercialize ‘Argo Active Antenna Catalyst’ as a comprehensive solution & scale-up globally.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
