D3.1 will describe the installed Hybrid coupler system on the Dual-use locomotive in a detailed report. In particular it will describe the installed system, main functionalities (e.g. folding up/ down, etc.) and the integration of the system into the locomotive. Pictures of the installation will be added to illustrate the report.
Hybrid coupler for legacy locomotives

Deliverable D5.1 provides a detailed report on hybrid coupler solutions for legacy locomotives, particularly the SM42 diesel shunting locomotive and the ET22 heavy electric line locomotive. The report focuses on solutions that combine mechanical, electrical, and data coupling to ensure efficient and reliable connections between locomotives and rolling stock, whether using Digital Automatic Couplers (DAC) or traditional screw couplers. It evaluates the technical capabilities of these systems, addressing their ability to handle mechanical loads, transmit power, and facilitate data communication, ensuring interoperability.
