Intelligent Framework for Inclusive and Seamless Transport Infrastructure and Mobility Services

Project description

Driving the digitalisation of European mobility

As European transport networks become more stretched by growing demand, ageing infrastructure, and urgent climate targets, the moment for wiser, cleaner, and safer mobility is here and now. The EU-funded MOVEO responds with a smart, scalable system to revolutionise infrastructure and mobility services. By deploying cutting-edge digital technologies, MOVEO will optimise asset management, reduce emissions, and boost safety and accessibility. Its five pillars of innovation, ranging from redisciplining infrastructure to smart logistics, will be tested in real-world applications in five EU regions. Backed by a multinational consortium and led by a co-creation strategy with key stakeholders, MOVEO will reshape Europe's mobility future to make it a better, stronger, and more resilient Europe.

Objective

In today’s rapidly evolving transport landscape, the need for more efficient, safer, and environmentally sustainable transport infrastructures and mobility services has never been greater.
MOVEO proposes a scalable Intelligent Framework designed to overcome these challenges by fostering the integration of transport infrastructure and means through the use of cutting-edge digital technologies. This framework aims to optimize asset management, enhance multimodal capacity, and reduce emissions, all while prioritizing safety, accessibility, and inclusiveness.
MOVEO's innovative approach is anchored in five key pillars: (1) Infrastructure assessment and redesign, (2) Inspection and monitoring, (3) Digitalized mobility, (4) Smart logistics, and (5) Inclusiveness and accessibility. These pillars are supported by Technology Innovation (TI) areas that collectively improve both transport infrastructures and modes. MOVEO will be validated through 5 demonstrators across various EU regions, encompassing different infrastructure types, climate conditions, and life cycle stages.
The project's methodology is grounded in a co-creation approach, actively involving stakeholders throughout the project via an External Advisory Board (EAB). This approach fosters innovation by integrating diverse perspectives within the quintuple helix framework (academia, industry, government, civil society, and environment). Such collaboration ensures that MOVEO develops sustainable and competitive transport solutions that address the complex challenges of modern mobility.
Bringing together expertise from 9 European countries, MOVEO unites the entire value chain in transport and digitalization, including specialists in inspection, monitoring, logistics, mobility, and inclusiveness, as well as end-users and transport infrastructure managers. MOVEO not only addresses today's pressing transport challenges but also lays the foundation for a more connected, sustainable, and safer transport future.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
