Fostering the transitiOn foR sustainablE and circular bio-fuelS: an Eco-labEl and moNitoring tool as a guidance for policies

Project description

Digital toolkit for improved compliance with green policies

Green Deal efforts have made significant headway in reducing emissions and increasing the adoption of renewable energy sources. Unfortunately, much still remains to be done to mitigate the catastrophic dangers of climate change. With the support of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions programme, the FORESEEN project will develop a novel eco-label and digitalised toolkit as a solution for ensuring compliance with decarbonisation policies, strategies and regulations, while also encouraging the adoption of circular and sustainable biofuel technologies and value chains. The toolkit's architecture will be developed by considering the safe and sustainable by design and circularity frameworks, integrating data science for data analysis and predictive modelling, while the eco-label will certify biofuel technologies and value chains that meet sustainability, circularity and safety standards.

Objective

The objective of FORESEEN (Fostering the transitiOn foR sustainablE and circular bio-fuelS: an Eco-labEl and moNitoring tool as a guidance for policies) is to design, implement and validate a digitalised toolkit and an eco-label aimed at improving and ensuring compliance with decarbonization strategies, policies, and regulations and promoting sustainable and circular biofuel technologies and value chains. The toolkit's architecture will be developed with consideration of the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) and circularity frameworks and integrating data science for enhanced data analysis and predictive modelling. The eco-label will certify biofuel technologies and value chains that meet sustainability, circularity, and safety standards. The integration of policies, circular bioeconomy indicators, SSbD framework, and digitalization within the FORESEEN project toolkit and eco-label will drive the adoption of advanced sustainable biofuel technologies and value chains.
