The future of EU digital investments throughout the value chain

Project description

Debating the EU’s future digital investments

A dialogue on the future role and prioritisation of EU digital investments, guided by existing initiatives like Horizon Europe and Digital Europe, is essential for shaping effective policies for upcoming legislative proposals under the next European Commission (2025-2029). The EU-funded DigInvest4EU project will host a conference to foster an early and inclusive discussion across Europe on the framework and priorities for digital investments within the EU. The event will address key topics, including policy considerations and implementation challenges. Participants will enjoy an interactive experience featuring debates, digitally enabled polls during sessions, and extensive networking opportunities.

Objective

The ambition with the proposal is holding a conference to foster an early and inclusive European discussion on the future role, framework, and prioritization of EU digital investments. This in order to have a qualified and informed policymaking in view of upcoming legislative proposals; aligned with the priorities of the next European Commission (2025-2029), and informed by existing EU programmes Horizon Europe and Digital Europe.

Concretely, this will take the form of discussions of the inspiring and relevant topics both policy discussions as well as implementation issues, an interactive approach with debates, digitally enabled polls during sessions and networking opportunities. Livestream and recordings of the sessions together with a conference report will give the conference reach in the entire EU.
