Objective
Eyesight is our most critical sense providing over 80% of our sensory impressions, but in the modern world people’s eyesight has become significantly worse. It is the result of irreversible megatrends of increasing indoor lifestyle with high use of digital devices and aging population. While the former affects the development of young eye causing shortsightedness, then population aging leads to higher prevalence of inevitable aging related farsightedness. Moreover, with an aging population, economies increasingly rely on an aging workforce among whom the prevalence of both vision problems is continuously expanding.
To prevent this problem from weighing down people’s productivity as well as their personal wellbeing, Pixieray introduces breakthrough adaptive eyewear technology to effectively provide perfect vision for those whose eyes are naturally not up to it anymore. While progressive eyewear with static lenses is currently the primary remedy for correcting near and far sight vision, they severely limit field of clear vision for different distances, create peripheral vision distortions and cause physical discomfort through dizziness and neck strain. In contrast, Pixieray uses its proprietary liquid crystal lens technology combined with the world’s smallest and power efficient IR based eye tracking solution to dynamically adjust eyewear’s optical power given the user’s viewing distance and prescription strength. This allows the wearer to see clearly at every distance with full field of vision and without distortions and physical discomfort.
