Objective
The project goal is to take benefit of the robustness of the PRS service for the most demanding advanced Timing and synchronization applications. GMV, along with its industrial consortium, brings extensive experience in PRS and in Timing and Synchronisation solutions, including work with ESA and leading Timing laboratories and scientific facilities.
Our PRS receiver will be used as a time source, enhancing our Timing products by offering protection against Spoofing and Jamming, and ensuring maximum availability and continuity through the Galileo’s highest guarantee service. The configuration includes a CRPA antenna to boost anti-jamming capabilities.
Additionally, the project proposes evolving GMV’s PRS server-based navigation solution to assess its suitability as a time source, and to provide PRS navigation for devices without encryption keys by centralizing key management on a server.
The project utilizes high TRL technologies and equipment, starting with GMV’s WANTime product, which supplies timing reference in demanding environments using Open Services receivers. This will be integrated with the PRS receiver developed by GMV and CIPHERBIT, currently in the final phases of security certification.
The CRPA antenna, provided by INDRA, is part of Spanish military programs and will be deployed on the F110 frigates of the Spanish Navy.
The project includes public and private representative stakeholders to identify the needs of the most demanding critical infrastructures and to make them aware of the capabilities of our proposed solution.
In compliance with the RFP requirements, this proposal addresses two use cases jointly for the benefit of the project: use case 4 (PRS-based network time synchronization for civilian applications) and use case 2 (PRS-based sensor/data integrator for position and time).
