The 19th Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan Conference: Strategic energy technologies for a competitive, secure and sustainable Europe.

Project description

Enhancing EU’s competitiveness and energy sovereignty

Denmark has established itself as a leader in the field of clean technology. The Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU explores ways to expand this expertise to all EU member states. With this in mind, the SETplan 2025 project will organise the 19th SET Plan Conference in Odense, Denmark, on 4-5 November 2025 during the EU Danish Presidency. Focusing on critical energy technologies, security of supply, and green energy innovation, the conference aims to enhance Europe’s competitiveness and energy sovereignty. Organised by Denmark’s climate, energy and utilities ministry in collaboration with the European Commission, the conference will promote energy research and innovation across the EU and foster discussions among public and private stakeholders.

Objective

The Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities presents a proposal to host the 19th SET Plan Conference 2025 in Odense, Denmark during the Danish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The 19th SET Plan Conference will take place on 4th and 5th of November 2025. It will focus on the intersection of critical energy technologies, security of supply and green energy innovation to strengthen Europe's competitiveness and energy sovereignty under the title: The 19th Strategic Energy Technology (SET) Plan Conference: Strategic energy technologies for a competitive, secure and sustainable Europe.
Denmark is a leader in many areas for clean technology and the discussion of how we can broaden this to many more countries in the EU will be addressed, and the Conference will provide a platform for in-depth discussions on Europe’s most pressing energy challenges. The agenda will feature both plenary and parallel sessions, offering diverse formats such as keynote speeches, expert panel discussions, site visits, social opportunities and networking events.
The Conference is expecting approximately 300 participants, and the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities is planning the conference in close cooperation with the European Commission.
The Conference will promote energy research and innovation across the EU and enable discussions among different public and private stakeholders.
The results will include, among others, recommendations for the SET Plan Implementation Working Groups, and for the future of the EU research and innovation programs.
