The RTI Summit 2025 (“A Research and Technology Infrastructures Ecosystem for Breakthrough Science and Innovation”) was organised by DTI and held on the 22-23 October 2025 at Scandic Copenhagen, Denmark. It was part of the Danish EU Presidency and aimed to discuss the future of Research and Technology Infrastructures and present the new European strategy in this area. The summit generated essential input for the strategy’s implementation and showed how these infrastructures support innovation, scientific progress, and industrial development. Moreover, the event was a great opportunity for knowledge exchange between policymakers, research infrastructure (RI) leaders, industry stakeholders, and the scientific community on topics such as the integration of research infrastructures with EOSC, sustainability of large-scale facilities, and the role of technology infrastructures (TIs) in supporting European competitiveness.
The 2 day-event comprehended plenary sessions with key speakers and different parallel discussions, as well as 40 booths with representatives from 40 research and technology infrastructures.
The event achieved significant success in all the three measured KPI categories, quantified as:
Conference Participation: 457 registered participants (target: 250–300), with 20 EU Member States represented (target: 15) and 20 high-level speakers alongside 49 panelists.
Dissemination Reach: 24,751 unique website visitors (target: 5,000), multiple citations in policy documents, and outcomes presented at 8 follow-up events.
Communication Reach: Over 100,000 estimated social media impressions, 30 media articles/mentions (target: 20), and 5,823 video views (target: 2,000).
The results demonstrate that the RTI Summit successfully served as a platform for dialogue, networking, and knowledge exchange, while generating substantial impact through the communication and dissemination of key recommendations to stakeholders across Europe.
