European Research Management Advancement

Objective

ERMA will establish a virtual hub as a one-stop platform to build a Pan-European Collaborative Network linking aspiring and experienced Research Management (RM) professionals with employers across the European Research Area (ERA) in academic and non-academic sectors. Through online Thematic Communities of Practice, the hub will enable exchange of knowledge and best practices across key RM dimensions. It will also signpost existing training and mentoring programmes, mobility schemes and training resources in EU Member States and Associated Countries, including workshops, online courses and open educational resources. The hub will be connected to an open online career development tool offering personalised guidance for skills development and career planning, and will support the identification of job opportunities across the ERA for diverse RM profiles and sectors. To strengthen recognition of RM’s added value to the European R&I system, ERMA will run national awareness campaigns in ten Widening countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Greece, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia), showcasing role models and RM impact, and will provide recommendations for research organisations and policymakers to enhance strategic RM capacity. A comprehensive communication plan will maximise reach and impact, while synergies with other projects funded under this action will be pursued to promote international cooperation and reuse existing results, supporting the implementation of ERA Action 17 at organisational, ecosystem and national levels.
