EUROPEAN TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION PLATFORM BIOENERGY - SUPPORT OF RENEWABLE FUELS AND ADVANCED BIOENERGY STAKEHOLDERS 2026-2028

Objective

"This project serves to support the ETIP Bioenergy Platform and related stakeholder activities in support of the SET Plan implementation.

The European Technology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy (ETIP Bioenergy) was launched in 2016 and combines the efforts of the European Biofuels Technology Platform (EBTP) and the European Industrial Initiative Bioenergy (EIBI). The mission of ETIP Bioenergy is to contribute to the development of cost-competitive, innovative world-class renewable fuels and bioenergy value chains, to the creation and strengthening of a healthy European bioenergy industry and to accelerate the sustainable deployment of bioenergy in the European Union through a process of guidance, prioritisation and promotion of research, technology development and demonstration.

The project ""European Technology and Innovation Platform Bioenergy - Support of Renewable Fuels and Advanced Bioenergy Stakeholders 2026-2028"" aims at strengthening and coordinating stakeholder‑driven implementation of the SET Plan for renewable fuels and bioenergy, by delivering actionable evidence, inclusive stakeholder fora, and strategic insights that accelerate technology deployment and market uptake in support of EU climate and energy goals. The project will provide support to the governance bodies of ETIP Bioenergy, carefully map relevant stakeholders and develop key messages on renewable fuels and bioenergy, monitor developments in the sector and provide analysis on key challenges, engage with stakeholders and facilitate the co-creation of insights, and actively communicate about the project and disseminate project results. The project team will closely collaborate with the ETIP Bioenergy Steering Committee, the Working Groups and the Biomethane Task Force.

The project will move beyond previous support actions by introducing a fully integrated approach to stakeholder co‑creation and by embedding SSH and ecological economics expertise."
