SUBLIMITY - Elevating Workers through Cognitive & Physical Augmentation at the Edge

Objective

SUBLIMITY redefines the future of advanced manufacturing by augmenting, rather than replacing, human capabilities. The project empowers workers through a neuro-adaptive, human-in-command platform that integrates agentic AI, brain-computer interfaces, neuromorphic computing, and multimodal sensing. At its core, SUBLIMITY develops two breakthrough devices: H-Sublimity, an in-ear EEG and neuromorphic earbud for real-time intent recognition and workload monitoring, and S2Skin, a smart robotic surface that turns equipment into an interactive, cognitive co-worker. Together, these technologies deliver seamless collaboration between humans, machines, and digital systems, ensuring that operators retain mastery, agency, dignity, and ease (MADE).
The agentic runtime orchestrates adaptive workflows across AR, cobots, wearables, and legacy equipment, personalizing support to reduce fatigue, errors, and training time. Demonstrated in three industrial pilots - large bearing remanufacturing, logistics management, and electronics assembly, targeting measurable gains such as exertion, errors, takt time, and time-to-competency. Beyond efficiency, it elevates job attractiveness, safety, and inclusiveness, bridging generational gaps and enabling diverse workers to thrive.
As a spinoff of the project, the Sublimity-Startup will be the first European deep-tech venture dedicated exclusively to cognitive wearables, translating the project’s breakthroughs into market-ready products. With 16 leading partners spanning research, industry, and technology, SUBLIMITY advances Europe’s twin green and digital transition, positioning human augmentation as the cornerstone of Industry 5.0. Its roadmap brings prototypes to TRL6 within the project, with standardization and certification paving the way to market deployment. By aligning technological innovation with human values, SUBLIMITY transforms factories into places where people not only produce, but excel and prosper.
