Supporting Cross-Border Dialogue, Scaling Solutions and Mobilising Finance in the Danube-Black Sea Lighthouse for Mission Ocean 2030

Objective

BlueMission DBS2030 is a Coordination and Support Action that accelerates the Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters” in the Danube -Black Sea Lighthouse. The project establishes a Lighthouse Governance Platform and a network of Regional Hubs to orchestrate cross-border dialogue, align policies, and fast-track the scaling of tested solutions for pollution reduction, ecosystem restoration, climate resilience, and a circular blue economy. We will combine innovation procurement support with blended-finance advisory, matchmaking public needs with solution providers, investors, and financial institutions. Through co-creation with authorities, river-basin and marine bodies, ports, SMEs, NGOs, and research organizations, the hubs will deliver replication playbooks, training, and policy briefs that remove adoption barriers and de-risk implementation. A digital knowledge and monitoring dashboard will broker evidence, track progress against Mission targets, and make outcomes visible and reusable across territories. By strengthening multi-level governance, mobilizing finance for bankable, nature-positive projects, and enabling coordinated uptake at scale, BlueMissionDBS2030 provides the mechanisms and capacities needed to translate strategies into action and deliver measurable results for Mission Ocean by 2030 in the Danube and Black Sea regions.
