Objective
HydroDataCube4EU project aims at developing a holistic soil-hydrology-climate modeling system for pan-EU based on EO data and state-of-the-art datasets and models, which will be used to produce a high spatial resolution (10 m) soil-water-climate modeling platform to support mitigating flood, drought, wildfire events and help raise awareness of soil biodiversity's relevance for managing European landscapes. It will model the relationship between soil-hydrology-climate, soil biodiversity, and crop yields, predicting future states under climate change scenarios. It will establish next-generation soil and hydrology pan-European GIS layers and functionality to support high resolution modeling of floods, flood risks, droughts and wildfires. Key deliverables include: SoilSuite+, SoilHydro10m, EUDTM10m, High-res soil moisture images, soil biodiversity indices, High-res climate data, python libraries for hydrologic modeling and back-end, front-end (data portal) HydroDataCube4EU. SoilHydro10m will include variables such as soil water holding capacity, saturated hydraulic conductivity in addition to texture fractions (sand, silt, clay), bulk density, and soil organic carbon. Six 6 pilots (2 in UK, 1 in Croatia, Portugal, Netherlands, Greece) will be used to validate the accuracy of models and install new sensors to track water dynamics and river levels. All output data produced will be shared as open data (CC-BY license). The final dashboard will be developed jointly with target stakeholders through co-development / demo sessions. The consortium members are specialized in High Performance Computing and Big EO data: have own copies of Sentinel and Landsat images (Petabytes of data) and have previously run hydrological parameterization on large volume Digital Terrain Models.

Net EU financial contribution. The sum of money that the participant receives, deducted by the EU contribution to its linked third party. It considers the distribution of the EU financial contribution between direct beneficiaries of the project and other types of participants, like third-party participants.
