Tripair: a simple, safe and effective tricuspid valve repair solution that breaks barriers to adoption and provides access to patients beyond the reach of existing therapies

Objective

Coramaze Technologies is a clinical-stage medical device company based in Germany, committed to improving the lives of structural heart patients by developing accessible, effective and minimally invasive solutions for tricuspid regurgitation (TR). TR is a life-threatening heart condition affecting approximately 3 million people in Europe. The current treatment landscape is highly limited: medication provides only symptomatic relief and poor long-term prognosis, while open-heart surgery is suitable for less than 1% of patients and is associated with high in-hospital mortality. As a result, more than 90% of TR patients remain untreated, underscoring the scale of the unmet medical need. Transcatheter tricuspid valve interventions (TTVI) offer a promising alternative, but their procedural complexity and strict anatomical requirements have hindered adoption. Today, around half of TR patients cannot be treated or are treated only suboptimally with existing technologies. In response, Coramaze has developed TriPair, a pioneering transcatheter “edge-to-spacer” repair system designed for safe and effective treatment of TR, including complex morphologies that existing devices fail to address. The procedure is completed in less than 30 minutes, requires neither general anesthesia nor transesophageal echocardiography, and combines simplified delivery with atraumatic anchoring and full retrievability. By streamlining workflows and reducing complexity, TriPair overcomes the adoption barriers of current options, which are limited to narrow anatomical subsets and demand specialized imaging expertise. With its simplicity by design, TriPair has the potential to become the first device capable of fully addressing the needs of the large and underserved TR population. Following promising results in the completed FIH study, Coramaze seeks EIC support to fund a EU Pilot Clinical trial on 30 EU patient, to generate European data and advance TriPair to CE marking in Europe.
