Objective
GenAI4EU Nexus will establish the European Hub for Trustworthy Generative AI (“Nexus”): a digital-and-physical one-stop entry point that maps, connects and mobilises Europe’s GenAI ecosystem across research, industry, SMEs and the public sector. Through a community-driven Observatory, challenge-based collaboration and structured links with EU instruments (AI Factories, AI-on-Demand, Data Spaces, TEFs and EDIHs), Nexus will turn fragmented activities into coordinated uptake and scale.
The Hub will: (1) operate an open GenAI Observatory with a shared taxonomy, dashboards and APIs; (2) orchestrate engagement around sectoral challenges in the 14 industrial ecosystems, boosting visibility, matchmaking and access to compute/data/deployment; (3) align policy and practice via a formal interface with the EU AI Office and delivery of a Strategic Research, Innovation and Deployment Agenda (SRIDA) with actionable policy briefs; (4) reinforce trust, compliance and standardisation in line with the AI Act and the GPAI Code of Practice; and (5) prepare a post-grant sustainability and business model to secure continuity.
Expected results include a visible pan-European point of reference for “AI made in Europe”; reusable toolkits and roadmaps; support to high-potential solutions through uptake services and success stories; and an evidence base to guide investment and regulation. Impacts: accelerated, responsible GenAI adoption in priority sectors; strengthened EU strategic autonomy and competitiveness; improved access for SMEs; and a durable, community-owned hub that continues beyond the project. The 36-month CSA is delivered by a consortium of leading EU associations, RTOs, universities and industry.
