Gender and DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) Indicators for European and Latin-American technological companies and related Training Strategies

Objective

The project goal is to promote gendered-based Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) processes within labor organizations in the European and Latino-American technological sector by fostering Gender & DEI Management Strategies. Historically, certain groups (women, LGBTTIQ+ individuals, autistic people, persons with disabilities, indigenous and Afro-descendants communities, migrants, religious minorities, among others) have faced exclusion from formal employment due to discrimination. Furthermore, these groups encounter inequitable development conditions in workplaces, and some of them even have to face numerous physical barriers leading to exclusion. Also, biases in recruitment and selection processes, including those arising from the use of Artificial Intelligence, have shown to contribute in the dissemination of stereotypes and discrimination. We aim to impact this reality by guiding technological companies to develop Gender & DEI Management Strategies and policies based on accurate indicators.
Considering this wide goal, we propose the following general research objectives: 1) To map Gender & DEI Management Strategies, practices and policies in the European and Latin-American technological sector, considering women and minority groups labor inclusion, AI use in recruitment and selection processes, career development conditions and spatial accessibility conditions in the technological corporate sector under analysis; 2) To design and to test content and ecological validity of a Gender & DEI Indicators Manual (MIGDEIT) for the mentioned sector; 3) To design and to evaluate the impact of a Training Program on MIGDEIT use on psychosocial and organizational variables.
Also, transfer objectives are pursued: 1) To publish an open access Manual on Gender & DEI Indicators for technological companies (MIGDEIT); 2) To train European and Latin-American tech companies in MIGDEIT use; 3) To publish an open access Practical Guide on Gender & DEI in the Technological Sector.
