GLOBal chain Ecosystems for Resilience, Innovation, Sustainability and Equity

Objective

GlobeRISE project addresses the urgent need to reinforce the resilience, sustainability, and inclusiveness of Global Value Chains (GVCs) through an interdisciplinary, intersectoral, and international approach. By combining AI-based modelling, empirical validation, and policy design, the project develops actionable strategies to enhance supply chain resilience, foster circular economy practices, and strengthen industrial competitiveness. The research analyses how economic, digital, environmental, and geopolitical shocks reshape global trade structures, using advanced predictive analytics and digital twin simulations to identify vulnerabilities and support adaptive responses. AI-driven stress-testing frameworks provide real-time insights into disruption patterns and recovery capacity, guiding decision-making for firms and policymakers. At the governance level, GlobeRISE advances evidence-based models integrating environmental, trade, and industrial policies to promote equitable and sustainable GVCs. Workforce adaptability is addressed through AI-enabled skills assessment and matching tools aligning education, training, and employment strategies with the evolving needs of key industrial sectors. Sector-specific pilots operationalise low-carbon technologies and circular economy models, demonstrating scalable pathways for decarbonisation, resource efficiency, and sustainable trade. Stakeholder engagement ensures effective knowledge transfer across academia, industry, and policymaking communities, maximising the project’s scientific, economic, and societal impact. Aligning with the EU’s Green Deal, Digital Decade, Critical Raw Materials Act, and Global Gateway Strategy, GlobeRISE contributes to building data-driven, sustainable, and inclusive GVC ecosystems that reinforce Europe’s strategic autonomy and global leadership in green and digital transitions.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
