Objective
PRISM aims to co-create, through a user-centred iterative methodology involving a complementary set of end-users and social, ethical, legal, and privacy experts, an unprecedented collaborative platform offering groundbreaking AI-powered monitoring and Intelligence management for both enhanced surveillance and organised crime threats prevention in prison facilities, while respecting the fundamental rights of inmates and prison staff.
The project will integrate and advance cutting-edge research results in counter-unmanned aircraft system, smart video surveillance, phone localisation, open-source intelligence and Digital Twins. These innovations will offer unparalleled means for the real-time detection of most common organised crime threats and coordinate efficiently a collaborative response in cooperation with police authorities and stakeholders.
The project will evaluate the effectiveness and acceptance of the proposed platform in the frame of four ambitious pilots with an unprecedented set of five national Ministries of Justice / five Prison Administrations from 5 different member states.
Coordinated by a large European industrial leader in critical infrastructure protection and crisis management markets, the consortium comprises 3 world-class research centres in the AI and open-source intelligence domains, 2 renowned industrial partners and 2 best-in-class legal and ethics experts. It is supported by an international Advisory Board and a Stakeholder Community made of LEAs, to ensure excellence, openness, and diversity.
To pave the way for the successful exploitation of the project’s outcomes and maximise its impact, PRISM will implement an ambitious communication and dissemination plan, develop an ambitious joint exploitation plan, and produce policy recommendations for Improved cross-border Intelligence Picture for EU authorities.
