Unlocking Multi‑Omics Analytics for European Precision Medicine

Objective

OMICS-STRATA builds the intelligence layer for Europe’s next generation of healthcare sovereignty. Through the EIC Pre-Accelerator, the project advances the Bio-Strata Core Engine (BSCE) from a laboratory-validated prototype toward real world pilot readiness, strengthening the technological, regulatory, commercial, and investment foundations necessary for market entry. BSCE enables secure, federated AI across genomics, proteomics, imaging, and clinical data, allowing biobanks, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies to generate new insights without moving sensitive information. This approach directly supports the ambitions of the European Health Data Space and Europe’s broader vision for sovereign biomedical intelligence.

OMICS-STRATA transforms a strong scientific base into an investable deep tech venture, aligning technical maturation with business validation, regulatory preparation, and investor readiness. The project complements Europe’s Strategic Technologies for Europe Platform (STEP) by reinforcing technological autonomy in health data, artificial intelligence, and critical digital infrastructure, while demonstrating the EIC’s mission to bring frontier technologies from the lab to the market.

The long-term ambition is bold yet grounded: to position BSCE as the core analytics platform of the EHDS within the next decade, enabling secure data-driven innovation across more than 70,000 institutions worldwide and establishing a sustainable model that ensures broad public access while driving commercial scalability. Led by Acceler8 Ltd — whose team has strong business, science, and engineering experience, has raised over €100 million, and brings proven expertise across EIC Transition projects, CERN technologies, and global biopharma — OMICS-STRATA combines scientific depth with regulatory and commercial execution, making it a flagship initiative for STEP and a cornerstone of Europe’s next generation of data-driven deep tech unicorns.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.

Call for proposal

Procedure for inviting applicants to submit project proposals, with the aim of receiving EU funding.
