Objective
TrackDeep’s FoxHunter project aims to deliver the next generation of a wideband, protocol-agnostic RF sensing system capable of detecting and geolocating any civilian RF-emitting drone—including non-compliant, modified, encrypted, or frequency-hopping devices—without relying on cooperative identifiers or pre-trained signal libraries. By expanding FoxHunter’s operational range to 400 MHz–9 GHz and validating its performance in relevant civilian environments, the project will address a critical gap in urban airspace safety, U-space implementation, and drone-related risk management for municipalities, airports, and critical infrastructure operators.
The project will mature FoxHunter from TRL 4 to TRL 6 through the development of synchronized multi-node sensor prototypes, wideband RF front-ends, and embedded AI models for weak-signal detection, classification, and multipath-robust operation. Core objectives include achieving ≤10 m CEP geolocation accuracy in ≥80% of trials, <100 ms on-node processing latency, and reliable detection of short, intermittent, and frequency-hopping emissions.
In parallel, the project will validate FoxHunter’s commercial potential through structured engagement with system integrators and distributors across Europe, refining the business model and confirming technical integration requirements. Activities will include stakeholder interviews, market analysis, regulatory mapping, and preparation of draft and final business plans.
By project end, FoxHunter will deliver a validated, wideband prototype demonstrating real-time, 3D RF geolocation in complex civilian RF environments. This will establish the technological and commercial foundation needed for future pilots and market entry through a B2B model targeting European system integrators and drone-management partners.
