OmegaTree: MAS-10® Enabled Metabolomics and AI-Driven Precision Nutrition and Health Analytics Platform

Objective

OmegaTree is developing MAS-10®, a patented volumetric microsampling system enabling accurate, hematocrit-independent blood collection from a simple finger-prick, stable at room temperature and validated in licensed laboratories. Unlike dried blood spot or VAMS devices, MAS-10® is compatible with advanced metabolomics (LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS) and is being expanded to measure amino acids, fatty acids, SCFAs, organic acids, trace elements, and oxidative stress markers (8-OHdG). An AI-driven reporting platform integrates these biomarkers with nutrition data to deliver personalized dietary and health insights. Early pilots confirm compatibility with next-generation sequencing, opening the path toward multi-omics precision health. The project addresses the urgent global need for scalable solutions against obesity, diabetes, and other non-communicable diseases, directly aligned with UN SDG 3 and the EU Precision Nutrition Pathfinder Challenge. Target users include individuals, clinics, dietitians, functional medicine experts, wellness units in hospitals, supplement companies, and corporate health programs. With CE-IVD self-declared kits, UTS registration, national funding, and ethics-approved clinical trials, MAS-10® is ready for TRL 6 validation. The core team combines expertise in biostatistics, medical biochemistry, engineering, nutrition & dietetics, analytical chemistry, and molecular biology. It is supported by Erciyes Technopark and Technology Transfer Office for IP management, business development, and commercialization, alongside external regulatory consultants. Over the next 12–24 months, we will optimize the device, expand biomarker panels, conduct a randomized controlled trial in obese individuals, enhance AI reporting, and refine business/regulatory pathways. This Pre-Accelerator project will deliver a clinically validated, market-ready precision nutrition platform at TRL 6, while laying the foundation for TRL 7–9 scale-up and an EIC Accelerator application.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
