Objective
Federated, Unified, Trustworthy, Ubiquitous Reinforcement-learning Enabled 6G through Agentic AI represents a timely and edge-cutting doctoral network addressing Europe's strategic imperative to lead autonomous 6G intelligence. At a critical moment when global competition for AI-native networking leadership intensifies, FUTURE-6G pioneers the integration of agentic AI systems—combining large language models, reinforcement learning, and multi-agent coordination—to enable zero-touch, self-managing 6G network operations aligned with the EU AI Act. This truly industrial doctorate brings together an exceptional consortium of 11 beneficiary organizations and 11 academic partners spanning world-leading telecommunications infrastructure providers (Nokia, Ericsson, Telefónica, TurkCell, Orange), cutting-edge AI hardware innovators (NVIDIA), semantic technology (ECCENCA, DTC) and RAN integration experts (IQU, ISW), and premier research institutions, creating an unparalleled innovation ecosystem where 15 doctoral candidates work embedded within industrial environments while pursuing rigorous academic training. The 15 DCs conduct research directly aligned with industry-driven challenges—from autonomous RAN orchestration and intent-driven actuation to quantum-resilient network security and energy-efficient edge intelligence—bridging the gap between academic theory and production deployment. Each doctoral researcher gains hands-on experience with production-grade network testbeds, GPU-accelerated HPC infrastructure, advanced digital twin simulation environments, and real operational networks, while contributing breakthrough innovations in agentic orchestration frameworks, hallucination-resilient LLMs, and trustworthy AI reasoning engines. FUTURE-6G delivers European technological sovereignty in AI-native network systems, creating competitive advantages through superior fault management, spectrum efficiency, energy optimization, and autonomous decisions.
