Hydratico – Fast, cost-efficient, and CO2-neutral water treatment with supercavitation for resilient water infrastructure

Objective

Hydratico by H+H Labs is a patented water-treatment technology based on hydrodynamic evaporation via supercavitation, delivering a step-change over conventional wastewater treatment. It provides highly energy-efficient, compact treatment for both industrial and municipal wastewater streams - including saline, high-contaminant, or hard-to-treat effluents - while significantly reducing chemical demand, infrastructure requirements, and treatment time compared to conventional systems. Its modular, compact architecture allows seamless integration into existing facilities or deployment as containerised units, making it equally suitable for industrial operators seeking cost-efficient wastewater purification and municipalities requiring resilient, field-ready water-treatment capacity. Across Europe and globally, water-treatment challenges are intensifying due to industrial pollution, ageing infrastructure, and regulatory pressures. In Ukraine, these issues are amplified by war-related infrastructure damage, creating urgent needs for rapidly deployable, low-maintenance systems that support safe water access, resilient municipal services, and long-term recovery. Existing treatment technologies remain energy-intensive, chemical-dependent, prone to fouling, and poorly suited for decentralised or mobile use. The project will adapt and demonstrate Hydratico as a scalable, CO2-neutral solution prepared to operate reliably under demanding conditions.
Through this project, H+H Labs will advance Hydratico from TRL5 to TRL7 by optimising system design, integrating an AI-based control and optimisation module, and demonstrating performance in real operational environments in Ukraine and Poland. In parallel, the project will strengthen the business model, market partnerships, and investment readiness. The outcome will be a validated, market-ready technology that contributes directly to Ukraine’s sustainable recovery and reconstruction, and supports Europe’s green industrial transition.

Fields of science (EuroSciVoc)

CORDIS classifies projects with EuroSciVoc, a multilingual taxonomy of fields of science, through a semi-automatic process based on NLP techniques. See: The European Science Vocabulary.

Keywords

Project’s keywords as indicated by the project coordinator. Not to be confused with the EuroSciVoc taxonomy (Fields of science)

Programme(s)

Multi-annual funding programmes that define the EU’s priorities for research and innovation.

Topic(s)

Calls for proposals are divided into topics. A topic defines a specific subject or area for which applicants can submit proposals. The description of a topic comprises its specific scope and the expected impact of the funded project.

Funding Scheme

Funding scheme (or “Type of Action”) inside a programme with common features. It specifies: the scope of what is funded; the reimbursement rate; specific evaluation criteria to qualify for funding; and the use of simplified forms of costs like lump sums.
