Objective
Depression affects more than 332 million people worldwide, about 5.7% of adults, and remains the leading cause of disability across all disease categories. It contributes globally over 50 million disability-adjusted life years annually with an economic burden exceeding €1 trillion per year, mainly from productivity losses and premature mortality.
Current depression treatments yield modest and inconsistent outcomes: only around 22% of patients respond to treatment-as-usual. Existing treatment modalities, such as pharmacotherapy or psychotherapy, focus on mood symptoms and neglect persistent neurocognitive impairments—spanning attention, working memory, executive functions, and cognitive control and flexibility—that sustain functional disability and predict poor recovery.
Soihtu DTx has developed Meliora Next, a video game precision digital therapeutic combining Executive Function Training with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to treat the neurocognitive and emotional dysfunctions underlying depression. The digital therapeutic has been validated in a large-scale clinical trial with 1,001 patients, demonstrating 3x improvement over treatment-as-usual, functional improvement, and strong adherence, establishing Meliora Next as a clinically credible and scalable therapeutic platform.

Our ambition is to redefine how depression is treated—moving from generic symptom management to personalized, precision digital medicine that integrates with standard care and scales to millions of patients worldwide.
