Objective
NURECAB-2 focuses on the deeper integration of Ukrainian research institutions and academia into the European Research Area (ERA), the strengthening of nuclear education and training to support the Ukrainian nuclear sector for safe operation of nuclear installations and the full utilisation of the potential of Ukrainian research organisations, infrastructures, and programmes in areas relevant to the Euratom Research and Training Programme. The project capitalises on NURECAB results by moving towards more structured and sustainable integration and further enhancement of nuclear education and training in Ukraine.
There are 4 specific objectives of the project:
- Quality improvement of nuclear education and training programme in Ukraine;
- Strengthening cooperation between UA and EU research entities and academia for deeper integration into the ERA and enhanced participation in Euratom research and training programme;
- Engagement young generation to nuclear research and engineering;
- Raising awareness of Euratom programme and EU nuclear community initiatives among Ukrainian stakeholders.
They will be achieved through implementation of 5 Working packages:
WP1 - NUCLEAR EDUCATION CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT TOWARD SUPPORT OF UKRAINE NUCLEAR INDUSTRY AND RESEARCH DOMAIN;
WP2 - ENHANCING INTEGRATION INTO THE EUROPEAN RESEARCH AREA;
WP3 - STRENGTHENING YOUTH ENGAGEMENT;
WP4 - COMMUNICATION, DISSEMINATION AND EXPLOITATION;
WP5 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COORDINATION.
The NURECAB-2 consortium is represented by 12 organizations which are 10 Ukrainian partners (6 nuclear education Universities, Research center, Ukrainian nuclear society, NPPs operator and SME) and 2 European partners (ENEN and JRC).
