Objective

EPA is a polyunsaturated fatty acid with remarkable benefits in human health; traditional manufacturing process is based in Liquid Chromatography using organic solvents. Proposed technology to be upscaled and industrially validated is Supercritical Fluid Chromatography, using CO2 as solvent. This is a clean technology, since it eliminates the use or organic solvents, toxic both to human health and to the environment. An industrial demonstration pilot will be designed and built.
