Core database development for the European Transport policy Information System (ETIS)

Objective

The ETIS-BASE proposal responds to key action 2, ,Sustainable Mobility and Inter-modality(TM), objective 2.1 Socio-economic scenarios for mobility of people and goods(TM), task 2.1.1/9 ,Development of a European Transport policy Information System (ETIS) as a basis for transport planning and policy formulation(TM). The task is separated into three sub-tasks. ETIS-BASE addresses sub-task 2, the development of a reference database for the modelling element(TM).

The specific objectives of ETIS-BASE are:
1) To contribute to the building of a consensus view of the reference pan European transport modelling data set,
2) To develop an open methodology to generate a version of such a set from existing international and national sources,
3) To produce a first compilation of the data set by applying the methodology mentioned above.
