Objective
The main objective of LEONARDO is to define and demonstrate the feasibility of integrating existing tools for arrival and departure planning management, together with those derived from the planning and routing function of the ground movement.
One important goal will be to standardise as much as possible airport traffic management system integration and procedures at the European level, establishing a common model for integration and co-ordination of airport planning and management tools at the European level.
The inclusion of two major airports with the integration of two technologies to fulfil a common set of user requirements will provide the opportunity to identify common requirements that can be achieved with different systems developed for airports with different necessities.
The scope of the study will gain reliability based on the trials carried out at both airports, complemented with benchmark testing and quantitative measurements in an emulated environment.
