Study of optimisation procedures for decreasing the impact of noise around airports II

Objective

The objectives of Sourdine II are:

- development and validation of new advanced innovative environmental friendly approach and departure procedures that have a positive impact on safety, capacity, environment and financial aspects.
- development of an implementation plan to provide guidance for the migration from the current operational environment to the new procedures.
- development of enabling technology to achieve the successful introduction of the selected departure and approach procedures, such as ATC controller tools, automated aircraft
-ATC interaction tools and cockpit monitoring tools (e.g.safety nets)
- development of a policy tool, enabling the policy makers to visualise and assess, for each new procedures, the relationship between safety, capacity, environment (noise and emissions) and the financial aspects.
