European agriculture technology database

Objective

The EAT Database project is based on a partnership of organisations and private companies in the agro-food sectors aimed at creating a database of European public research information which can be accessed by farmers, farming advisors, consultants, journalists, researchers and private manufacturing companies in Europe. The EAT Database is supposed to provide a single entry point for technical farming information combined with commercial opportunities. It will be based on Internet knowledge databases and developed in co-operation with leading agro-industrial experts and researchers who will collect all available European information in specific technical sectors.

Tools will be provided for each database, including for example: diagnostic modules for veterinary sickness, future scenario simulations and change management, as well as comparative software for farms and small businesses.

The project team covers both EU and CEEC regions and is characterised by a technical research background coupled with strong contacts in the agro-industrial sector.
