Objetivo
This project addresses the challenge of decreasing the cost of wind power in a way to make it economically viable for general use. The wind turbine is two-bladed, since the potential economy generally is better, since it is better suited for optimisation at high wind speed sites and since it is easier to handle offshore.
The main objective of the project is to fulfil the economical goal set up in the Work Programme. Other objectives are to realise the compact sub-critical teetering hub and the yawing system that is based on teeter angle measurements (both patent pending). The design origins from the 1MW Nordic 1000 which is the only large two-bladed wind turbine that is produced commercially today, with an excellent experience from operation of prototype and serial turbines.
